Thomas Roy “Tom” Stafford, 73, of Richmond, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2015 after arrival at the James B. Haggin Hospital in Harrodsburg, Kentucky.
He was born August 18, 1941, in Lake Bonaparte, New York, to Sidney E. and Emma Luther Stafford, both of whom preceded him in death. Thomas was the proprietor and operator of a salvage yard, while in New York, and he was a U. S. Marine Corps, veteran of the Vietnam era.
He is survived by his wife, Myrtle Culton Hisle Stafford of Richmond; two sons, Philip Stafford of Virginia and Adam Stafford of New York; step-children, Linda Hisle Sears, Lisa Mae Hisle (Sonny), and James G. Hisle, all of Richmond; five step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren, as well as a sister-in-law, Wilma Culton Lainhart.
Other survivors include his brothers and sisters, Emma Jean Stafford of North Carolina, Faith Stafford Lee of New York, Mary Etsen of Florida, Rachel LaBoda of North Carolina, Ruth Hart of New York, Samuel Stafford of North Carolina, Naomi Bauer and Timothy Stafford, both of New York; sister-in-law, Alice Rondall Stafford (widow of his brother, Sidney Stafford, Jr.); many nieces, nephews and cousins.
