LONG, CAROL LEE "FARKLE," 61, of Hillview has completed her earthly journey and has found peace in her heavenly home on June 10, 2012.
Carol was once the owner of Fairdale Video and loved her job at City Limits, where she made many friends. Her joy was her family, fishing, cooking, Churchill Downs and beloved Facebook friends. She was a Baptist by faith, an accomplished vocalist and known for her great sense of humor.
Among those that preceded her in death include her parents, James and Betty Jean Stafford; and sister, Jackie Lynn Stafford.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Jennifer Howlett (Edward); son, Joseph Newman (Shelly); grandchildren, Jessica Barrett, Jacob Newman, Edward Jr., Joshua, Tony and Destiny; sister, Peggy Stafford; brother, Wesley Lyle Stafford (Cheryl); nephew, Christopher Stafford (Lori); nieces, Kylie and Taylor Stafford; great-nephew, Leland Stafford; and special friend, Margaret Claggett.
Cremation was chosen and the family will announce a memorial service at a later date. Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) is in charge of arrangements.
