Pauline "Polly" Stafford Cowan, 91 of Yorkville, Tennessee died on Saturday, August 27, 2016, at the home of her daughter in Newbern, Tennessee.
Born Wednesday, July 29, 1925 in Dyer County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Otis Stafford and the late Lena Marlin Stafford.
She was a retired sitter and caregiver for the elderly and member of the Mt. Tirzah Baptist Church.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cowan will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with Chaplain Samuel Swanson officiating. Interment will follow in Yorkville Cemetery. Visitation for Mrs. Cowan will be Monday, August 29, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
She is survived by on son, R. C. LaRue of Yorkville, Tennessee; one daughter, Peggy Bromley (David) of Newbern, Tennessee; one brother, Joe Stafford of Yorkville, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Sherry Storms, Rhonda Rea, Gina Noah, Eddie LaRue, Tammy Louther and Melissa LaRue; nine great-grandchildren, Heather Peevyhouse, Jonathan Lowery, Cody Lowery, Hunter Rea, Skylar Rea, Hannah Rea, Ethan Noah, Jon David Noah and Sharon Noah and seven great-great-grandchildren, Connor Peevyhouse, Cayden Peevyhouse, Charly Peevyhouse, Cailey Lowery, Jackson Lowery, Tripp Lovery and Colin Lowery.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her three husbands, R. L. LaRue, Harold Williams and Robert Cowan; three sisters, Aslee Walker, Aline Bell and Lorene Walters; three brothers, William Stafford, Gene Stafford and Bill Stafford and one great-grandchild, Emma Ann Noah.
