Robert Lee Reese, an employee of the Soil Conservation Service in Montgomery county and land-owner of Scotland community, died of a heart attack about eight o'clock Monday morning, only a few minutes after leaving his home to attend to his farm duties.
He was found almost an hour later by his wife. He was 56.
Funeral arrangements were held at Scotland Baptist Church Tuesday, January 31st, at 3 p.m. with Rev. H. B. Vinson assisted Rev. C. B. Hamlet and Rev. J. M. Metts officiating. Lee Funeral Home was in charge.
Mr. Reese was also a member of the Winona agricultural stabilization and conservation committee. He had formerly served as a Works Progress Administration supervisor for Montgomery and Carroll counties.
He was a veteran of World War I, a Mason and was a member of the Church of Christ. He was also active in Scotland Baptist Church and in affairs of Scotland community where he owned a farm and had lived since his marriage in 1926 to Miss Mae Bell Stafford of that community.
Born near Ashland in Benton County, he had also lived in Holly Springs where he attended high school. He was employed in Hudsonville and Victoria before coming to Winona.
Mr. Reese leaves his wife, who had been an assistant in Montgomery county chancery clerk's office 12 years; a daughter, Miss Jane Reese of Tylertown, who serves as home demonstration agent of Walthall County; three brothers, Ed Reese of Sheffield, Alabama, Tom Reese of Phoenix, Arizona, and Felix Reese of Memphis.
