  Mrs. Freddie Nerine Collins Cowan, age 84, of Bradford, Tennessee, passed away from this life on May 29, 2013, at Milan General Hospital. Funeral services for Mrs. Cowan will be conducted on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home of Dyer with Bro. Don Cooper and Bro. Darrell Ridgely officiating. Interment will follow in Yorkville Cemetery of Yorkville, Tennessee. Mrs. Nerine Cowan was born March 16, 1929, in Gibson County; the daughter of the late Fred and Rachel Eakes Collins. She worked as a customer service manager at Kellwood Company and was an avid gardener. Mrs. Cowan is survived by her daughter, Peggy Murphy and husband Jim of Bradford; her sisters, Shirley Hooper of Rutherford and Kathryn Billings of Greenville, South Carolina; grandchildren, Laura Albea and Lanina Street; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Robert Cowan and her parents. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2013.
