Mrs. Ada Stafford White, aged 55 tears, passed away at her home in Lafayette at an early hour Monday night, dying bout seven thirty o'clock. she had been ill for many months, and had been confined to her bed for the past five months. She is survived by her husband, Sam White; one son, Willard White, of Lafayette; four daughters, Mrs. Lois Wyatt and Mrs. Hilda McCune, both of Lafayette, Mrs. Lucille Nelson, of Celina; and Mrs. Moline Rader of Indianapolis; a step-daughter, Mrs. Velma Gammon, of Lafayette; two-half brothers, Clyde and Earl Stafford, both of Lafayette; three half-sisters, Mrs. Ruby Watson, of Hartsville and Mrs. Willie Mae Patterson, and Mrs. Bonnie Crawford, both of Indianapolis; and a step-mother, Mrs. Mary Stafford, of Lafayette. One son, Leonard White, was killed in action in France in the late war, losing his life about four years ago. He also left a son, Ronnie White of Murfreesboro.
The remains of Mrs. White were laid to rest Wednesday about noon in Maple Grove Cemetery, following funeral services from the home by Elder William Birdwell, pastor of the Lafayette Baptist church, of which Mrs. White had been a member for a number of years. She was a good woman and had the love and esteem of a large circle of friends. She was born in the Hillsdale section and was the daughter of the late Yancey Stafford.
