  Joshua enlisted in the Civil War in Brooksville, Florida on July 19, 1861. He was in the 3rd Florida Infantry, Company C. Hernando County Wildcats. Joshua was elected 1st Lt on May 8, 1862. He was placed on conscript duty March 2, 1863 and returned in early 1864. He resigned October 29, 1864 as a 2nd Lt. Census: E.D. 76. Listed in farming with wife Sarah, sons Robert, John, & Bloxham and daughters Barbara, Ulle & Joe Anna. Father born in Georgia and mother born in NC. Buried: Unmarked grave.
