Ruth (McKinnis) Stafford, 86, died May 2, 2006, at her home in Willis, Mich. She was a former resident of Obion County and the South Fulton area. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dale True officiating. Burial will follow in Unity Cemetery in the Latham community in Weakley County. Friends may call at the funeral home 4-8 p.m. Friday. Nephews and great nephews will serve as pallbearers. She was born July 13, 1919, in Obion County, daughter of the late Daniel and Josie (Woods) McKinnis. She had been married to Carmel Stafford, who died June 18, 1977, and was a member of Unity General Baptist Church in Latham. She had been employed at the former Henry I. Siegel Mfg. Co. in Fulton. Survivors include her nephew and his wife, James “Jim” and Renee McKinnis of Willis, with whom she made her home; her sister, Birdie Hicks of Union City; and several other nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. She was also preceded in death by eight brothers, Woodrow McKinnis, H.L. McKinnis, Roland McKinnis, Tillman McKinnis, Jim McKinnis, Fred McKinnis, Hugh Ed McKinnis and Daniel McKinnis Jr.
