  Funeral services for Joan C. Miles, 62, of Cumberland Furnace, were held Saturday, April 11, 2009 at the chapel of Spann Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Winters officiating. Burial followed at Potts Cemetery. Mrs. Miles died Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at her home. Survivors include her father, Charles W. Stafford of Cumberland Furnace; sons, Doyle E. Miles (Linda) of Cumberland Furnance and Matthew L. Miles (Kim) of Cumberland Furnace; sister, Suzanne M. De La Torre of Cumberland Furnace; and grandchildren, Trevor Miles, Hannah Miles, Brandon Miles and Adam and Summer Collins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobbie Miles; and her mother, Betty Stafford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
