  Henry reported for military duty on 1 Jan 1943 at Camp Blanding FL. On 12 June 1943 he departed for Greenland and arrived there 2 July. He remained in Greenland until 25 Nov 1944 and was shipped back to the USA arriving 2 Dec 1944. His total service continental was 1 year, 4 mos. 23 days. His foreign service was 1 year, 5 mos., 21 days. He reached the grade of Technician Fifth Grade (T/5) under 1st Battalion, Field Artillery School Detachment. He was honorably separated from duty at Fort Sill Oklahoma 21 Nov 1945. He was decorated American Theater Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Victory Medal.
