  Mayford Lee Stafford was born on May 17, 1933 in Jackson County, Tennessee, the son of Johnie Earl Stafford (1910-2012) and Martha "Nannie" (Scantland) Stafford (1910-2004). He was married on November 21, 1956 in Jackson County, Tennessee to Helen Mayes Vanoy (1935- ), the daughter of James Marshall Vanoy (1913-1996) and Johnie (Moss) Vanoy (1909-1985). [Helen's parents were married on February 18, 1934 in Jackson County.] Mayford was a US Army veteran and was a retired lineman from Nashville Electric Service. A resident of Madison, Tennessee, he was 83 years old when he passed away on February 11, 2017. Preceded in death by his parents and by sister Judy Anne Stafford (1942-1943), he was survived by his wife; a daughter; married son; three sisters and a brother-in-law; a brother and several nieces and nephews. Celebration of Life Services were held at Mount Olivet Chapel, and burial was in historic Mount Olivet Cemetery. Original obituary in The Tennessean on February 13, 2017
