James “Jim” Robbins Stafford, age 75, of Mishawaka, IN passed away on June 9, 2017 at his daughter’s home. Jim retired from Faurecia and enjoyed remodeling homes.
Jim was born March 27, 1942 in Gallatin, TN to the late J.D. and Leona (Scott) Stafford. On November 3, 1961 in Kokomo, IN, Jim was married to Jessie LaVerne (Ford) Stafford, who survives, along with their three children—daughter Candi Ann (Lonnie Eugene) Whitfield and sons Neal Robbins Stafford and James Edward (Shelia) Stafford; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Elizabeth Linder and Sara Frances Stafford, and by brothers John R. Stafford, Roland Stafford, and Ralph Stafford.
Jim loved to work and build things. You could find him sitting outside on his swing listening to old southern gospel music. He loved to laugh at a good joke and be surrounded by all of his grandchildren. One of his favorite things was to be in a Sunday night Apostolic Church service feeling the presence of God. According to scripture, Acts 2:38, Jim was baptized in Jesus name on September 8, 1968 and days following received the Holy Ghost, in South Bend, IN.
