  GAINESBORO -- Funeral services for Sam "Red" Stafford, 28, of Gainesboro were held Sunday, September 9, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home. Burial was in the Pharris Cemetery in Jackson County. Mr. Stafford died Friday (September 7, 1990) at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Born December 18, 1961 in Jackson County, he was the son of Jack and Dora Stafford of Gainesboro. Mr. Stafford was a disabled mechanic. In addition to his parents, his family includes his wife, Barbara Durflinger Stafford of Gainesboro; one son, Jonathan Stafford of Cookeville; two daughters, Laura Stafford of Cookeville and Blair Stafford of Gainesboro; one step-son, Patrick Durflinger of Gainesboro; two brothers, Joseph and Jackie Stafford, both of Gaines- boro; three sisters, Rose, Katherine and Debbie Stafford, all of Gainesboro. Mr. Stafford was preceded in death by one sister, Cora Stafford. Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiated at the services.
