  8/28/06 I have a lead that the father of Ralph Stafford was a Thomas Stafford. Evidently Ralph's mother died and Thomas remarried in 1817 at Stockport, Cheshire, England to a Martha Goddard of Derbyshire, they had at least 3 children, Sarah, Mary and William. Thomas must have died prior to 1827 for Martha Stafford then Marries a Peter Pass and has children by him before coming to NY by 1850. Ralph had a brother, Benjamin that came to NY before 1840, he is in NY census for that year. According to Edwin's ("Saga") as we call it, he also had sisters that came to NY also I have quite a bit more if you find anyone interested, sincerely, Chuck Bolton There is a direct Y-DNA link between this Ralph Stafford (Stafford Branch 74) and a Peter Stafford (Branch 84 my reference 69023). Born: Another source has him probably born in Cheshire, England. Religion: Family converted to Mormonism in England. Emigration: Arrived in New York, 11 Jun 1841.
