- According to Roberts, p. 253, he settled in Giles Co., VA, and is listed in the 1820 census for Giles Co. Served in War of 1812 in Capt. George W. Camp's Co.,4th Regt., VA Militia, from 16 Oct. 1813 to 10 Mar. 1814 (Muster rolls and pension applications in National Archives.

1850. District 20. Listed as Ralph K. Stafford, a farmer, with wife Mary and children Granville B. (?), age 27, Wyatt P., Marcass, Marion D., Jane, James E., Elementery (?) age 4 F & Elmira age 5 months and grandson Erastus Stafford age 7. Some names obscured.
- Listed with wife Mary, age 51, DeMarcus, age 24, Marion, age 21, Jane age 18, James, age 15 and Almira, age 10.
- Listed as Rolph Stafford, a farmer, with wife Mary and children Marion, James, and Charles age 14 b. VA (probable grandson)..
