  STAFFORD, CALEB, was born June 22, 1789, in Coventry, Kent county, Rhode Island, went with his father, Joseph Stafford, in 1804, to Essex county, New York, where he was married in 1810 to Rebecca Eggleston. He was a soldier in the war of 1812, and was in the battles of Plattsburg, Sept. 17, 1814, Bouquet river, and others in New York. Mr. and Mrs. Stafford had eleven living children in New York, and moved to Sangamon county, Illinois, in 1836, settling near Rochester. Obit: BORGER - Ralph N. Stafford, 87, died Friday, July 2, 1999, in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Highland Park Cemetery with Gary Bodine, minister of Borger Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Directors. Mr. Stafford was born in Illinois and had lived in Borger for 28 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He retired as a brick layer. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include two sisters, Hazel Wiggins of St. Francis, Kan., and Eva Doerfer of Penrose, Colo. Census: Listed as a farmer with Rebecca Stafford age 23 b. NY, James McClery age 21 b.
