Hi Glen-- Just a few words about Grampa James Stafford's sisters which y ou wonder about. I've been searching tonight to clear up all doubts. W e were trying to remember their proper names---not Edith & Clara--- but A nnie and Emily went to Canada. Annie was Mrs. Annie Ogden of Saint Ca therines, Canada ---- and Miss Emily Holt of Ontario, Canada. Now let m e type out Grandma's obituary.
Mrs. Clara Stafford, wife of James Stafford, 1 Burt Street, died this m orning at her home in her 74th year following an illness of six months. M rs. Stafford, who resided in Taunton for the past 43 years -- 1946 minu s 1903 she came= 43 years. was born in Oldham, England, the daughter o f the late John and Maria (Greenwood) Holt. She was a member of the St . Paul's Church in North Dighton, Ma. In addition to her husband, she l eaves one daughter, Mrs. Hilda Hayes, No. Dighton; 3 sons, Harry, Frank a nd Lawrence Stafford all of this city; and two sisters, Mrs. Annie ogde n of St. Catherines, Canada and Miss Emily Holt of Ontario, Canada. Th ese are not the sisters of James but of my grandmother, Clara. Gramp h ad three sisters older than he Lizzy (probably Elizabeth Stafford) 1865 , Edith
1870, Clara 1874. Where his sisters Edith and Clara went, or came to t his hemisphere U.S. or Canada, I don't know. Dear 'Ol Dad in Taunton.
