  Mrs. Sieck just sent information that Stukeley Westcott married Juliana Merchant. She was the daughter of John Merchant who was baptized at Yeovill 8/8/1571 and the granddaughter of John Merchant and Eva Cominge who were married at Yeovill 7/18/1568, John Sr died 1593.He married Juliana Mechant 10/5/1619 in Yeovill England -- MERGED NOTE ------------ Per the Bullock book on Stukely Wescott: Stukely was made a Freeman of Salem, in 1636, one of the original proprieters of Providence, Rhode Island. Settled in Warwick, Kent County, Rhode Island in 1648. In memoranda made in 1656, by Benedict Arnold and found among his old family papers, stated "My father (William Arnold) and his family sett sayle from Dartmouth in old England, the first of May and arrived in New England June 24, 1635. On board was Stukely Wescott 48 of Yeovil and his wife with children Robert, Damaris, Samuel 13, Amos 4, Mercy and Jeremiah. That Benedict then twenty years of age should have singled out the Westcotts to mention in his memoranda, may be explained by his promising friendship with Demaris Westcott, then about 15 years old who later became his wife.
