  This child is still in question as to whether he is a child of Samuel, Sr. and Ruth. "There is a persistent tradition in the family that Samuel had another brother named Joel. Diligent search has failed to verify this impression though from the nature of the eivdence given, it is believed to be a reliable tradition. There is reason to elieve also that there were other brothers and sisters in this family, but nothing what ever is known of them." Bailey Family History - South New Berlin Newspaper article.
