  TICONDEROGA - Mrs. Agnes D. Carney, 77, of Baldwin Road, Ticonderoga, died on Monday, May 4, 1987 at the Moses-Ludington Hospital, following a brief illness.  She was born, in Forestville, N.Y., on June 9, 1909, the daughter of Ray Dye and Jennie Lynn (Stafford) Towne. Her husband, John Patrick Carney, died earlier.  She graduated from Forestville Central High School and. Fredonia. Normal School, and was an art teacher throughout the Ticonderoga Central School District for the following six years. She was a member of the Ticonderoga Moses-Ludington Hospital Auxiliary and was named by that group as woman of the year in 1977. She was a member of the Ticonderoga Catholic Daughters, and a member of the Garden Club. She was also previously associated with the Girl Scouts and Brownie Scouts in Ticonderoga.  Arrangements by the Connery and Gunning Funeral Home in Ticonderoga.  The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at St. Mary's Church in Ticonderoga. Burial will follow at the Valley View Cemetery, Ticonderoga.
