Obituary
CONABLE.--Ruby, wife of George Conable, was born in Virgil, Cortland County, New York, July 26, 1835, and died in Cortland, New York, March 2, 1891. She was converted and united with the First Methodist Episcopal Church of Cortland in 1853, of which she remained a devoted member. For many years she was a teacher in the Sunday School. She was deeply interested in all church work, always ready to do whatever she could. She was married to George Conable Oct. 20, 1858; Rev. D. W. Thurston, presiding elder, officiating. Four children were born to them, two of whom with their father survive. She was a devoted, loving wife and a faithful mother. She will be greatly missed, not only in her home, but also in the church and in Cortland, where she has spent nearly all her life. For more than two years she has been an invalid, at times suffering greatly, but exhibited the noblest traits of Christian character, and gave bright evidence that all was well. Her funeral sermon was preached by her pastor from 2 Corinthians iv, 18.
