• Notes

  For now, it is an assumption that Samuel is a son of Nehemiah. In the 18 50 Census, Preston Co., VA, Samuel and wife, Martha, are living next do or to Nehemiah, and Samuel's age is appropriate. The 1820 Census shows th at Nehemia had one son under ten years of age. In 1830, there was one und er 5, 2 who were 5 but under 10, and 1 who was 10 but under 15.
