  The Henderson Directory for Moose Jaw shows information on Ida C. Hale as follows: 1908 - Rooming House Owner at 19 9th Ave Ive 1909 - " " " " 1910 - Owner of La Hale Lodge 23 1/2 River St. W. Ive From 1915 to 1928 she owned the Empress Hotel. Her obituary noted that she was the proprietress of the hotel until the time of her death. She was a member of the Red Cross Society, a life time member of the Daughters of the Empire, a member of the Canadian Club, and the Ladies Aid of St. Andrews United Church.
