  "Barney Record Book" Bk 1, pp 30, 56 "Jacob Barney, 1634" pp 124, 130 by Mary E. Wesbrook, 1982; Bosworth genealogy, p 421. They moved to Grafton in 1774, where he bought 3000 acres. He was Capt. in Militia, 1st Lt. in Rev. War. He was commissioned a Captain on Sept. 3, 1767 in the 2nd (Rehoboth) Company, Col. Wm. Bullock's First (Bristol Co.) Regt. He married Susanna Carpenter, who was of Mayflower descent. Aunt Betty's notes have another child: Lowrey Barney, b. abt 1753 in Rehoboth
