- "The body of Mrs. Delia Stafford, a former Auburn resident was brought here and funeral services held at the home of Mrs. Cora Shipherd on Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. U.R. Bell. Mrs. Stafford died in Gulfport, Florida where she went each fall to spend the winter season. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Shipard, being born in Bainbridge, Dec 10, 1838, and therefore nearly 80 years of age. She was married to Clinton Stafford of Auburn, on April 8, 1860, the couple living in Auburn until 1886, when they removed to Rocky River. Mr. Stafford died in 1899. Mrs. Stafford took much pleasure in her annual visits to Florida but when she started for the South last November she was in poor health. She was buried by the side of her husband here."
