  Obituary: "The Clio Messenger" 27 Aug 1936 Mrs. Vesta Scott Mrs. Vesta Scott died at her home in Thetford, where she had lived all her life, August 22, 1936, aged 70 years. Her death followed that of her husband, Otis Scott, by almost exactly six years. She had been sick but a short time. Mrs. Scott was the daughter of Sanford and Nancy Stafford, and was born in the home where she died, April 14, 1866. In 1879 she was married to Mr. Scott, and became the mother of three sons who survive her, Everett, Veril and Merve Scott, all of Clio. She also is survived by one brother, John Stafford, of Clio; two sisters, Mrs. Detta Ramsdell of Flint, and Mrs. Susie Davis of Forest; two grandchildren, Muriel and Donald, of Clio. Mrs. Scott was an active worker in the M.E. church and in the Ladies Aid. She was well known in her community, warmly liked and highly esteemed. The funeral was held Tuesday at two o'clock, at the home five miles east of Clio on East Vienna road. Rev. H.A. Manahan of Mayville, a former pastor, officiated. Burial was in Thetford cemetery. Marriage date in obit is wrong by several years, married 04 Jul 1890.
