Mrs. Nora Watson, wife of Charles Watson passed away at the Saginaw Geriatrics Home at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday. Age 87 years. Nora Stafford was born November 22, 1874 in Montrose, Michigan and was married to Mr. Watson at Vernon, Michigan, on December 9, 1896. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary about ten days ago. After their marriage they lived on a farm near Chesaning until 1911, when they moved to a farm on Stroebel Road near Shields, and lived there until 1939, when they moved to Saginaw. She attended the Michigan Avenue Evangelical United Brethren Church and was a member of the Ruth Circle, the Gleaners and the W.C.T.U.
Besides her husband, she leaves four daughters and two sons, Cleo Watson, Mrs. Arlene Wolkensdorfer, both of Saginaw; LaVern Watson, Traverse City; Mrs. Gertrude Speery, Owosso; Mrs. Hazel Metzler, St. Petersburg, Fla. Mrs. Clova Hodgman, Clio....several nieces and nephews, one of whom, Walter J. Stafford of Union Lake, made his home with them during his yourth.....
