  Mrs. Cynthia Stafford Petty was born April 25, 1854, and departed this life April 25, 1919 being 65 years of age on the day of her death. It can be truly said of her that she was a good woman. She had been a member of the Church of Christ for many years. Her husband preceded her across the dark river many years ago. She leaves one child, Mrs. Joe M. Richardson, with whom she had made her home for many years. Three sisters and one brother are left to mourn her departure, besides other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at the Church of Christ at Greenwood on Sunday at 1pm by Bro. J. E. Thornberry, after which the remains were laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery to await resurrection of the just. Obituary published - The Lawrence Democrat - May 21, 1919.
