• Notes

  John moved from York to Harpwell ME in 1727, being one of the first permanent settlers. He and Meriam lived in a log cabin on a hill facing Stover's Cove. They are buried near the site where the cabin stood. In 1939 a direct descendant of John took down the names of the stones still standing in this cemetery on private land. John and Meriam's gravestones were buried beneath the ground.
