WILLIS STAFFORD DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS
Funeral services for the late Willis Stafford will be held from the family home, two and a half miles west of Jefferson at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon [8 Oct 1922] and interment will be made in Jefferson Cemetery.
John Willis Stafford, who was 65 years of age, died at the family home Friday morning [6 Oct 1922], death resulting from ulcerations of the stomach following an extended illness.
The deceased was born in the same house where he departed this life and had been a lifelong resident of the Jefferson community. He is survived by three brothers, Pence Stafford of this city, Joseph E. Stafford of Jefferson, and George Stafford of Crescent City, IL. The widow [Sarah Shanabarger] and daughter, Mrs. A. E. Harbin, also survive. He was a member of the Masonic order."
