• Notes

  Enlisted in Co. C, 13th Tennessee Cavalry, on 12-13-1863 in Union City, TN, and was mustered in 1-20-1864 at Columbus, KY. On a 2-29-1864 muster roll, he was listed "present, enlistment bounty due". He was captured at Fort Pillow, TN, on 4-12-1864 and sent to prison at Andersonville, GA, where he died just over a month later. The cause of death is reported as Rubeola. Married: Lucinda Robertson, place & date unknown Brothers John Stafford and James Nathan Stafford also served. Died: William Pinkney "Pink" Stafford served in the Union Army during the Civil War and was captured at Fort Pillow, Tennessee. He was sent to Andersonville Prison south of Atlanta, Georgia where he died from exposure.
