Mary Stafford Wilder, widow of
Arthur Wilder, and a resident of St. Johnsbury since May, 1879, passed from this life on the 29th day of June last in the sixty-third year of her age. She was born in Barre, and graduated from Barre Academy in class of '75. A few years after married to Mr. Wilder, whose family was one of the old and well known families of the town. The children of their marriage were two, a daughter, uth, afterwards Mrs. Carroll P. Barnev. and a son William Franklin. The daughter died some years ago leaving a daughter, Ruth, who is now the adopted daughter of Judge and Mrs. W. P. Stafford. The son is at present an Examiner of Patents in the United States Patent office, and resides in Washington. He has a wife and one son. Mrs. Wilder's funera in the North Church chapel, July 1st, was attended by relatives and numerous friends, the service being conducted by Rev. H. D. G. Scott in the unavoidable absence of the pastor. Mrs. Wilder had been for many year a true and devoted member of the North church and will be sincerely mourned and missed by a group of friends loyal and affectionate, to whom she had endeared herself by an equal loyalty and love.
