  Obituary: OBITUARY: New Carlisle (OH) Sun, dtd 13 Sep 1978, copy in the Clark Co Historical Society Room, New Carlisle Public Library. "***NELL J. STAFFORD. Last rites were held for a former New Carlisle resident at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5 [1978], in the Trostel-Chapman Funeral Home in New Carlisle. Nell J. Stafford, 92, of 325 Salem Ave., Dayton, died at 9:45 a.m. Friday, Sept. 1 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, where she had been a patient 10 days. Born in Clark County Aug. 9, 1886, she was a daughter of Robert Finley [Stafford] and Janetta Johnson and was a retired school teacher. In addition she was life member of the New Carlisle First Presbyterian Church. Ms. Stafford is survived by one nephew, Robert Jones, of Dayton. The Rev. Joseph Quinn, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church conducted last rites. Burial took place in the New Carlisle Cemetery."
