Funeral services for Alvin C. Jared, 87, were held Saturday at 2 p.m. with the chapel of Hooper & Huddleston Funeral Home with Harold Poland minister of the Broad Street Church of Christ of which Mr. Jared was a member officiating. Burial was in the Cookeville City Cemetery.
Mr. Jared's death occurred Thursday at the Cookeville Nursing Home following an extended illness. He was a resident of 547 7th St.
Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Kate Stafford Jared, 2 daughters, Mrs. R. W. Miller, Camarilla, CA, Mrs. John LeFever, Cookeville, son Lt. A. C. Jared, Jr., of the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Cookeville, foster son, E. B. Jared, Akron, OH, 4 grandchildren and 3 greatgrandchildren.
