Buried:
Lila Stafford, a resident of Wynne, Arkansas, departed this life, Friday, May 17, 2013, at the age of ninety-three, at River Ridge Nursing Home. She was born August 9, 1919, in Winfield, Alabama, the daughter of Robert M. and Virgie Roberts Vaughn. She married Mr. Nolan Henry Stafford on November 30, 1939. She had a loving marriage of sixty years.
Lila was a homemaker and nurse's aide at Crestpark Nursing Home. She was a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church, where she was active until her late eighties. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening and fishing. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who will be dearly missed. God blessed her with the gift of serving others. She used this gift by teaching Sunday School and was a volunteer at the Good Sheppard and Senior Citizen Centers.
Mrs. Stafford was preceded in death by her husband: Nolan Henry Stafford, her parents: Robert and Virgie Vaughn, five brothers: Cecil Vaughn, Laborn Vaughn, Arnold Vaughn, Austin Vaughn, Travis Vaughn, and two sisters: Leta Hodges and Lois Best.
Lila is survived by three sons: Ronald Stafford of San Antonio, Texas, Tommy Stafford of Lakeland, Tennessee, Danny Stafford and wife Barbara of Bella Vista, Arkansas, one daughter: Brenda Baskins and husband Frank of Wynne, Arkansas one sister: Inez Bonham of Jonesboro, Arkansas, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 20, 2013, at Thompson-Wilson Wynne Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Tyer Cemetery in Cherry Valley, Arkansas. Visitation will be Monday from 1:00 prior to the service at Thompson-Wilson Wynne Funeral Home.
