- A Julia Burton Stafford, black, age 12, was listed in this household in the 1850 Fayette Co., TN Census.
The Fayette County Heritage Book says that William Haywood Staffford's second wife's name was Mary Darthula Bailey. They had two children Evie and Albert Sidney Stafford (b. 7-5-1880; d. 9-15-1959) The article says Albert had a least one half brother, Tom, and two half sisters, Harriet and Jane. Jane married her cousin W. H. (Bill) Stafford. The article mentions that Albert's grandmother was an "Estridge". (That would be Polly Eskridge.) Albert said they were Scotch-Irish.
