  Died: The News: Night Edition Des Moines, IA Thursday January 25, 1912 Aged Women Found Dead: Heart Failure Mrs. Lavina Brayton, 83 of 1420 Des Moines street was found dead in bed this morning by her daughter, Mrs. Marietta Rutherford. It is thought heart failure was the cause of death. Mrs. Brayton has a grandson, Frank Retherford, who works in East Des Moines dry good store. Daughter of William Garrett Safford & Mary Andrew. Married to William Matteson Brayton.
