  Listed in parent's estate papers. Died shortly after his mother, leaving no heirs. -- MERGED NOTE ------------ BIRTH He was probably under 18 at the time of his mother's will; I have estimated his birth as 1798, but it could have been earlier. That he was listed before Sarah, I have taken to mean that he was older, and she apparently "came of age" or turned 20 around 1820. Washington Stafford was named as a devotee in the will of Catherine Stafford, 1810 I have never been able to find any evidence to Washington Stafford's existence after the mention in his mother's will. The first Washington Stafford to appear in the census was in NJ in 1840; but he was a younger man, born in New Jersey.
