At a term of the circuit court of said county begun, held and continued at the court house in the city of Tipton commencing on Monday the 5th day of November 1900 present the Hon. Walter W. Mount judge of the 36th judicial circuit the following proceedings were had on the 21st day of Nov 1900 in the cause of

Come the parties by counsel and on motion defendant is ruled to answer and defendant now files an answer as follows [Insert] and this cause being at issue the same is on motion submitted to the court for trial and the court having heard all the evidence and being well advised in the premises finds that the plaintiffs and defendants are the owners in fee simple of the following described real estate in Tipton County state of Indiana to wit. The West half of the South East quarter of section twenty-Seven (27) Township twenty-one (21) North of Range three (3) East. Also commencing 537 57/100 feet west of the South East corner of the South East quarter of section twenty Seven (27) Township twenty-one (21) north of Range three (3) East thence North 1650 feet thence West 784 feet, thence south 1650 feet thence east 784 feet to the place of beginning containing 29 68/100 acres. And the court further finds that each of the parties to this action on the owners of of [sic] the undivided one eight (1/8) part in value of said described real estate and the court finds that it is to the best interest of the parties hereto that partition be had between them and the interests of the respective parties set off to them in severalty and the court does now order and award such partition and the court now appoints Ira F. Crail, Joseph M. Grove and William W. Clark three disinterested free holders of Tipton County Indiana commissioners to make such partition who are ordered before entering upon the discharge of the duties of their trust to take an oath faithfully and impartially to perform the same which oath if not taken in open court shall be endorsed upon the certificate of their appointment and said commissioners are ordered to report at the present term of this court. Comes now said commissioners and return and file in open court the warrant of authority issued to them with their oath endorsed thereon as follows to wit. Oath. State of Indiana, Tipton County, SS.
We Ira F. Crail, Joseph M. Grove and WIlliam W. Clark do each and severaly [sic] solemnly swear that we will discharge the duties of commissioners in accordance with the within order to the best of our ability so help us God.

Said commissioners also file their report of the west half of the south east quarter of section twenty seven (27) township twenty one (21) North of Range three (3) East. Also commencing 537 57/100 feet west of the south east corner of the south east quarter of section twenty seven (27) township twenty one (21) north of range three (3) East. Thence North 1650 feet, thence west 784 feet, thence south 1650 feet, thence east 784 feet to the place of beginning containing 29 68/100 acres which is as follows to wit.
Report of Commissioners
The undersigned commissioners appointed at the present term of said court to make partition of the real estate hereinafter described respectfully report that in obedience to the warrant issued by the clerk of this court which is attached hereto and made a part of this report. We have made partition of the real estate described in said warrant to wit. The west half of southeast quarter of section 27, Township 21, North of Range three (3) East. Also commencing 537 57/100 feet west of the south east corner of the southeast quarter of section 27, township 21 north of range 3 East. Thence North 1650 feet, thence west 784 feet, Thence south 1650 feet, thence east 784 feet to the place of beginning containing 29 68/100 acres all in Tipton County in the state of Indiana as follows to wit.
To the plaintiff Mary E. Lockridge commencing at the South west corner of the southeast quarter of Section 27, Township 21 North of range 3 East, thence north 2623 feet; thence east 249 feet, thence south 2623 feet thence west 249 feet to the place of beginning containing 15 acres.
To the plaintiff Lyndon T. Stafford commencing 249 feet east of the south west corner of the south east quarter of section 27, township 21, north of range 3 East, thence north 2623 feet, thence east 249 feet thence south 2623 feet, thence west 249 feet to the place of beginning containing 15 acres.
To the plaintiff Elmer D. Stafford: commencing 498 feet east of the south west corner of the south east quarter of section twenty seven 27, township 21, north of range three 3 east Thence north 2623 feet, thence east 249 feet, thence south 2623 feet, thence west 249 feet to the place of beginning containing 15 acres.
To the plaintiff John F. Stafford, commencing 747 feet east of the south west corner of the south east quarter of section 27, township 21, north of range 3 East, thence north 2623 feet, thence east 249 feet, thence south 2623 feet, thence west 249 feet to the place of beginning containing 15 acres.
To the plaintiff Robert G. Stafford commencing 996 feet east of the south west corner of the south east quarter of section 27, Township 21 north of range 3 East, thence north 473 6/10, thence east 304 feet, thence south 473 6/10 feet, thence west 304 feet to the place of beginning containing 3 3/10 acres.
To the plaintiff Levi L. Stafford: commencing 996 feet east and 473 6/10 feet north of the south west corner of the south east quarter of section 27, township 21 north of range 3 east, thence north 2149 1/10 feet, thence east 304 feet, thence south 2149 4/10 feet, thence west 304 feet to the place of beginning containing 15 acres.
To the plaintiff Cora A. Law, commencing 537 57/100 feet west of the south east corner of section 27, Township 21, north of range 3 east, thence north 1650 feet, thence west 392 feet, thence south 1650 feet, thence east 392 feet, to the place of beginning containing 14 84/100 acres.
To the defendant Martha L. Stafford commencing 929 57/100 feet west of the south east corner of section 27, Township 21 north of Range 3 east, thence north 1650 feet, thence west 392 feet, thence south 1650 feet, thence east 392 feet to the place of beginning containing 14 84/100 acres. That a plat of said real estate is herewith filed made a part hereof and marked Exhibit A.

And the court having see and examined the report and being well advised in the premises does now approve and confirm the same in all things and orders and directs that said lands as described in the report be set off and awarded to the several parties therein named and the court allows each of the commissioners in partition the sum of Two Dollars each for their services rendered and also Beauchamp & Proctor the sum of One Hundred Thirty Dollars as attorneys fees and Ira F. Crail $500 for extra services in surveying said lands all of which allowances to be taxed and collected as a part of the cost in this case.
It is also adjudged by the court that the parties to this action pay the cost according to their respective interests herein.

Obituary:

The dead body of Levi Stafford was found Fri noon by his brother, Lyndon, lying in the barn where he had gone to do the morning chores. After breakfast, Mr. Stafford went to the barn to do the work and was not seen all morning. His brother and sister, Mrs. Ella Partlow, with whom he lived with became worried and started a search for him. Examination revealed that the body had been there for some time and the death was caused by heart attack. he was 63 years old and had been subject to these spells with his heart for some time.
Mr. Stafford never was married and he and brother and sister resided together near Little New York. He was born April 17, 1875 in Missouri and moved to Tipton county with his parents when a boy. His parents were James G and Luzena (Lloyd) Stafford.
Survivors are three brothers, Robert, Elmer and Lyndon and the sister, Mrs. Partlow, all of the same community and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services were held at Shiloh M.E. church Sunday in charge of Rev. J. W. Hamilton with burial at the Ridge cemetery
