Notes

Eliza was a native of Addison, Vermont and a direct descendent of Roger Sherman, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. She married Orson N Stafford on August 29, 1841, in Rochester, IL. They had one daughter, Emma, who died at the age of 1 year in 1855. Elizabeth died in St. Augustine, Florida, where she and her husband had retired. She is buried with her husband in the Stafford Vault which is on the side of a hill below Block 10.
