- Dinah Stafford was born about 1747 in Bath County, NC. She married Sylvanus Bird on March 4, 1768 at Old Ebenezer Church in present Effingham County, GA. They had four children: Dinah, born 1768 who married William Byron; Abraham, born 1770; Andrew, born 1772 who married Elener Giles; Alexander, born 1774 who married Mary Harvey. Sylvanus Bird was fatally wounded January 27, 1780 when Indians attacked Sir James Wright's plantation at Ogeechee, and killed Bird's sister, Mrs Hern. This item was in the "Royal Gazette" published in Savannah during the British occupation during the Revolutionary War in the issue published July 11, 1780.
Dinah Stafford Bird married James Bullock of Bryan County in 1788. Dinah and James had two daughters: Abegail, born about 1790 who married Silas Hilliard; and Ann (or Nancy), born in 1792 who married the Rev. Matthew Albritton. Evidently James Bullock died by 1797 as a deed from John Bandy to Dinah Bulloch was issued on March 20, 1797 in Bryan County . Since it was issued to Dinah alone, it indicates that James Bulloch was bead by that time. Dinah made a deed for 100 acres in Bryan County along with her daughters, Abegail Hilliard and Ann Albritton for land that had been granted their father, James Bulloch. Dinah Stafford Bird Bulloch died May 1816
