Mattie was the daughter of Arch Almer Stephens, (DOB 10/18/1884 - DOD 6/25/1975) & Jennie Guffie, (DOB 11/17/1884 DOD 10/19/1971), who are both buried at Seminary Cemetery, in Weakley County, Tennessee, she was the granddaughter of Joseph C. "Joe" Stephens, (DOB 1/11/1856 - DOD 7/23/1916), who is buried at Antioch Cemetery, in Gibson County, Tennessee, & Rachel Evaline Hinson, (DOB 19/1857 - DOD 4/17/1932), who is buried at Gum Springs Cemetery, in White County, Searcy, Arkansas, she was the great granddaughter of Ruffin Sanders Stephens, (DOB 11/18/1831 - DOD 10/13/1920), & Nancy Ann Barber, (DOB 11/5/1833 - DOD 5/25/1911), who are both buried at Stephens Cemetery, in Perry County, Tennessee, she was the great great granddaughter of James Calvin Stephens, (DOB 1802 - DOD bet 1880 - 1900) & Mary M. Manier, (DOB 1896 - DOD 1880), who are both buried at Stephens Cemetery, in Perry County, Tennessee. Mattie was married twice, she married her 1st husband J. B. Lewis in 1924 and they had a son, William Harold Lewis, (DOB 9/17/1925 - DOD 12/23/1995). She married her 2nd husband Charlie Noble Stafford in 1949. Noble is buried at Highland Cemetery, Weakley County, Greenfield, Tennessee and her son William Harold was cremated and his ashes are buried at Jefferson Barracks Cemetery, in South St. Louis, Missouri.
