  BIRTH Census records consistently show her year of birth to have been 1818,in Ohio, with parents in Virginia (1880). That she was the daughter of Richard A. & Mary Ann Walker Stafford seems evident since Richard died in 1823, and a girl of this age shows up in the household of Ann Stafford for 1830, 1840, and Ann Stafford is living with her in 1850. In 1860, her mother Ann is mistakenly identified as Anna Welkins, but it is clear that she is Ann Stafford. MARRIAGE A marriage record for Eliza Stafford to Cornelius Wilkins is on file in Muskingum County, Ohio, 05 Sep 1843. DEATH OF CORNELIUS They married in 1843, had two children, Ann in 1845 and John A. in 184 7. Cornelius was not present in the census, 1850. OCCUPATION Eliza Stafford Wilkins was a dressmaker, as shown in the 1860 and 1880 census, and her daughter Anna is also shown as a seamstress in 1870. CHILDREN Apparently only two--Ann and John, present with her in the 1850-1880 census.
