• Notes

  John is shown in the household of his mother with his two daughters in 1880,denoted as a widower. It is doubtful that he is the same man who married Martha Perrine, who had Clarence Wilkins. He is therefore probably not the same John Wilkins recorded in the 1900 census for Muskingum County, Ohio, page 256 with Martha and 6 children. Since finding the above, I have found in the IGI that John Wilkins and Martha Perrine were indeed the parents of Clarence in 1873, as well as later children such as Ethel and Ada, as recorded in the 1900 census. They are not the same as our John Wilkins.
