AFFIDAVIT OF DEATHAND PROOF OF WILL
John D. Widaman gave proof before the court that James Stafford died on 19 February 1916, and that he had witnessed the will of the deceased. Will probated 22 Feb 1916.
It seems most likely that the James Stafford who wrote this will was the son of William and Christina; whether or not Ida is the same woman as Elizabeth Baumgardner whom he married in 1895 is unknown. Since James was still living at home in 1880 and appears childless in 1900, and he lists no heirs other than his wife in 1911, it also seems likely that James Stafford, son of William and Christina, had no issue.
NOTES, 3-12-2004
In reference to the above notes, Ida Stafford listed in the will is not the same as Elizabeth Baumgardner. The 1910 census shows that James and Ida Stafford had only been married 6 years, whereas the 1900 census shows James and Elizabeth had been married for 4 years. Whether Elizabeth died, or they divorced, is unknown by me.
