CUMBERLAND,Maryland ‹ Anna Catherine Turner, 85, formerly of 13616 Moores Hollow Road SE, Cumberland, died Tuesday, April 25, 2000, at the Cumberland Nursing Home, where she was residing.
Born Sept. 2, 1914, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Ephriam Stafford and Minnie Belle (Rice) Stafford. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Billie T. Stafford.
Mrs. Turner was retired with 22 years service as a nurses assistant in surgery at Memorial Hospital. She attended Calvary Baptist Church, and was a member of the District 16 Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.
She is survived by a son, Robert E. Turner, Cumberland; two sisters, Lillie Sheetz, Cumberland, and Minnie Springer, Everett, Pa.; a special friend, Betty Wolford, Corriganville; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. David Henriksen officiating.
