  From her obituary found in The State 08 December 1961: Mrs. Eloise Stafford Mims, 87, of Camden, formerly of Columbia, died at the Camden Memorial Home Thursday morning. She was born in Sumter, the daughter of the late H. E. Stafford and Mattie Barkley Stafford and had lived in Camden and Columbia all of her life. Survivors include three sons, Harold L. Mims of Camden, Clifton V. Mims of Washington and Leon H. Mims of Kalamazoo, Mich.; seven children and grandchildren. Note: She is Carrie on US Census records before her marriage, living in Sumter in the household of Hartwell Stafford.
