  More proof is needed to confirm Robert Stafford's parentage. Mary dau: of [+]Theobald Bourke Esq & [+]Catherine his wife. [ It seems reasonable to assume that this T.B. was descended from one of the T.Bs Viscounts of Mayo. The Viscountcy became dormant in 1767] [The ring that I have inherited has this Bourke of Mayo arms in the 2nd and 3rd quarters and the basic Stafford chevron in the 1st and 4th. Clearly this is the couple for who the crest was made though whether officially by a herald of arms or not is unknown. Also unknown is if they had the ring made or BSS [25.4] had it made.]
