Funeral Services for Charles R. Burke will be Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cedar Avenue Chapel of Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home. Brother Mark Abbott will be officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Greenfield, TN. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday 9:00 a.m. until service time.
Mr. Burke, the youngest child of eight children, was born December 15, 1933 in Carroll Co., TN to Bland and Norma [Nora] Burke. He served in the US Air Force as an Air Policeman in Alaska for three years. Served as a Deacon for years at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church (AKA “Good Low Baptist”). He retired from Milan Arsenal after thirty four years of service.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 42 years Frances Nell Stafford Burke, three sisters, Myrtle Tegethoff, Dorothy Barker and Lucille Burke, three brothers James Burke, Edward Burke and Ernest Burke and two grandsons Dalton Hudgins and Derek Burke.
