Obituary:
KASSON -- The funeral service for Kyle Markie Stafford will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the First Congregational Church in Dodge Center, with Rev. Jean Boese officiating. Interment will be in the spring at Wildwood Cemetery in Wasioja, Minn.
Mr. Stafford, 87, died Tuesday (April 1, 2008) in Dodge Center.
Kyle Markie Stafford was born Sept. 21, 1920, in Olmsted County and attended rural schools in Dodge County. On Dec. 24, 1940, he married Marian Palmer in Northwood, Iowa. He was a farmer and served as a township officer for 20 years. He operated a lumber business with his brother, Don, for many years. The couple wintered in Mission, Texas, for 15 years. He retired in 1989. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling.
Survivors include his wife, Marian of Kasson; two daughters, Bonnie (Joe) Henkel of Georgetown, Texas, and Betty (Doug) Blood of Springfield, Ore.; two sons, Mark (Nancy) of Ramsey and Marvin (Dee Dee) of Dodge Center; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald (Arleen) of Mesa, Ariz., and Claude (Muriel) of Dodge Center; four sisters, Mavis Atkinson of Pine Island, Evelyn Dostal of Kasson, Janice Green of Rochester and Arlene (Roger) Erickson of Kasson. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Maxine; two brothers, Fred and Harold; and one sister, Lucille.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Dodge Center and an hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
Memorials are preferred to the First Congregational Church in Dodge Center.
Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Dodge Center is in charge of arrangements.
